About the event
This is a taster sport climbing day, especially for those who are curious about how to 'get into' the outdoor world of rock climbing.
This is perfect for locals to the A55 and Llanberis bolted venues on North Wales.
Sport climbing refers to the act of placing protection (quick draws) into pre-bolted rock as you climbing to a fixed "lower-off" point. Sport climbing is popular in North wales due to its abundance of bolted quarries and its a less expensive way to just climb rock without the techical euqipment that traditional climbing entails. Sport climbing is a great after work activity, as coastal crags dry faster and most are short walk-ins too.
This taster event will give you an idea of scouting suitable crags for beginners, how to interpret grades and guidebooks, equipment needed and of course a bit of CLIMBING!!
